To All Club Contacts,
Well everyone, it's that time of the year already when we are again starting to put things in place for this years Classics in Corbridge show.
We have gained a reputation for being the regions biggest and best show and hopefully this year will be no exception and as always we will rely on you, the local clubs, to help us achieve this.
We are working hard behind the scenes to help make improvements (more of that later) but for now, can you confirm by return that you are still the point of contact for your club. If you are no longer that person could you let me know who is and I will amend our database.
Please feel free to let your members know asap that the show will be going ahead on Sunday the 3rd July and that Eventbrite should be open for registrations before the end of this month. If they have been to the show before then they will then receive an invite in due course together with joining details. If they have not been before, then ask them to send me their e-mail address and I will add them to our list. We do prefer Eventbrite entries where possible but appreciate that this is not possible for everyone, so if you are aware of any new exhibitors who wish to be added to our postal database, please provide me with their name and address.
I will of course be liaising with clubs as previously to keep them up to date as we go along.
This year I will be using this e-mail address for all contacts and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch using this rather than my personal e-mail address as in previous years.
ALL MEMBERS ATTENDING - NOTE WE SHALL LEAVE FROM THE 3 TUNS, EGGLESTONE AT 0900. LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING ALONE. WE HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED A CLUB STAND - DON'T FORGET YOUR TICKETS.Find out more »
The second Chateau Impney Hill Climb will take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July, and will see no less than 200 competitors sprint up the challenging, MSA-approved 1,000-yard course in an attempt to beat the clock.
The current course record of 42.42 seconds was set by Jack Woodhouse in the Lotus 20/22. Jack gained the fastest time of the day at the inaugural Chateau Impney Hill Climb and was awarded the Ken Wharton Memorial Trophy, which was kindly donated to the Hill Climb Club by the Hagley & District Light Car Club.
If you can’t wait until July, then view results from past events and download the course map to get a taste of what’s to come. Keep checking the Hill Climb blog for up-to-date announcements on which cars and drivers will be taking part, and buy your tickets online to receive our early bird discount.

The club will have a stand at the show as usual, but the arrangements for getting tickets has changed. Mark Woodward has stopped giving clubs free passes and individuals now have to book their tickets online at www.markwoodwardclassicevents.com or else download the form and use snailmail. Passes cost either £15 for all his events or £4 per event and must be booked at least ten days in advance. The ticket is valid up until 1100 on show day and covers the car with two adults and two children. Theoretically only pre 1999 cars are eligible, but we know that has been negotiable in the past.
Other MW events include Hutton in the Forest on 29th May, Raby on 19th June (clashes with Beamish), Leighton Hall on 3rd July and Ripon on 28th August.Find out more »
